My Looks

Get Ripped

Frenchionista

You don’t need to know me very well to understand that I LOVE a good pair of ripped denim jeans. A lot of people ask me where I usually buy my ripped jeans from, the truth is that I actually add some ripped holes myself so that they look imperfect and super worn in.

You could turn any worn out pair into a super cool distressed pair of denim, which I guarantee you will wear all the time. So to add holes to my jeans, here is what I do:

  • Grab a pair of scissors and cut through the section where you want the rip- don’t go too crazy as it needs to look ‘natural’
  • Cut a little bit and then simply stretch out the rip a few times with your hands. To me, the bigger the hole, the cooler it looks
  • Some people use a stone and rub it against the denim till a hole appears, but I haven’t really mastered that technique yet!
  • Finally, put your newly ripped pair of denim into the washer so that all the threads come out

Et voilà :), please let me know if you are using another way to add holes to your denim, or if you have any tricks you’re using to make your clothes stand out!
